Whether you're looking for a particular organisation, product or service, try the following to get the best search results:

• Make sure all search words are spelled correctly
• Use specific keywords instead of general ones - so, instead of searching for food, use fried chicken or Chinese takeaway
• Specify a location if possible to improve the relevance of the results

Basic searching :

If you search for "plumber," business finder will display those organisations in the UK which have "plumber" in either their name or keywords section. Business finder isn't case sensitive, so whether you enter your search in lower or upper case, the same results will be displayed.

If you search without entering a location, business finder will search throughout the UK. However, if you search for "plumber" but also include "Leeds" in the location box, business finder will narrow its search to those organisations in the Leeds area. Alternatively, try entering the first part of the postcode into the location box to search for relevant organisations in that area only, or enter a a complete postcode to search for the nearest business to that postcode.

When searching with more than one keyword, business finder doesn't mind which order the words are in. Searching for "Chinese" and "takeaway" will return the same results as if you had searched for "takeaway" and "Chinese."

Advanced searches

Ticking the "match all" box in the advanced search page will force Askalix to display only those organisations with all of the entered keywords in their description.
